refugee law clinics abroad e.V.
We believe in empowerment through information. Our approach is to give people the information they need to make informed decisions and plan their lives. We think that any work in the field of legal aid requires cooperation with national lawyers and actors already present. Thus in Chios, we will work with Greek asylum lawyers and legal aid NGOs present on the island. All our legal volunteers have a sound background in EU, national asylum law as well as experience with the provision of legal aid.
Access to information and particpation are key to the democracy in Europe. We want to strengthen the idea of a Europe of solidarity where everyone arriving can participate in the society and has access to their rights.
Refugees we provide legal information are able to excersice their rights as well they will be supported in the reunification process with their families. Family reunification is a key to integration and will help to sustainable strengthen the democracy in Europe.
Our project idea requires a permanent presence of legally trained persons who are able to provide with the legal information. The resources in Greece are overwhelmed, therefore solidarity is necessary. Our project is a European project with European partners and not only national organisations. In the Migration crisis solidarity is needed to help the refugees excersicing their rights.
We think that the European Union should keep the principle of being solidary to refugees fleeing from countries of war. Human Rights and a system that is in line with International Humanitarian Law are the center of our motivation.
We provide legal information to the refugees arriving in the European Hotspot on Chios in Greece.
We would like to learn from experienced partners how to sustainable establish an organisation within Europe.
