Idea Sketch

Idea pitch

There is a significant need of teaching democracy values in schools. In particular those related with multicultural diversity and inclusion of migrants, refugees and asylum seekers, which is one of the present EU challenges.

Schools should cover these values in their curriculum however they lack of material to use and organisations to support them.

Through this project we aim at developing material in different languages to share across European schools and NGOs.

Where will your idea take place?

Across Europe, specially in Spain , France and Greece. Materials developed will be shared online.

Why does Europe need your idea?

One of today's EU democracy challenges is the inclusion of migrants, refugees and asylum seekers. Children need to be aware of different realities and grow with values in cooperation & development. Schools need to deal with this challenge from an education perspective.

What is your impact?

Hundreds of schools and thousands of children will be aware of EU challenge with the inclusion of migrants, refugees and asylums. They will also be tought about other EU realities and cooperation & development values.

EU Education centres will have education resources online on this topic.

How do you get there?

We will develop education material together with other EU organisations that are linked to migration, refugees and asylum seekers. A catalogue of workshops, activities and books. Part of this will be developed together with migrants, asylum seekers and refugees.

EU schools will be contacted to inform about this database of edu material and about the availability of our network of NGOs to undertake specific workshops in their facilities.

Bookshops will distribute the material as well.

What is your story?

When I was at school cooperation & development values were not given enough weight in the education program.

Currently we are giving talks in many schools in France and Spain with successful results. Education centres and their students, are very interested in welcoming our workshops.

Who are you doing it for?

The target Group is children from 5 to 18 years old in EU education centres.

What do you need from the Advocate Europe community?

Feedback about similar projects they have participated and increase networking.
