The past few years have seen overwhelming examples of decisions made by countries, voters against the spirit of democracy and inclusiveness in Europe.The onus is now on the future generation how they will shape Europe & European values. We feel the need and urgency to share the vision with them. Democrateen engages native, refugee, migrant teens (14-18) and create, ―workshops on foundation of European ethics, principles. ―Organize sports, arts events promoting their group work.
We bring the stage to the future generation, and exactly convey the idea to them, “What if you took the stage?” This idea engages future generation of natives, migrants, refugees to understand each other, and promotes all taking steps in each others direction.
A successful outcome would be a measurable affirmative impact in the target group, who then hopefully impact their families, society and future of Europe. An online catalogue of the featured work, examples of community work, inspiring stories of togetherness.
3 day workshops will be organised in France, Armenia, Estonia on separate occasions by the local organisation. Others will interact via video calls. After the workshops next 3 months are planned for organisation-participant collaborative workshops/events/activities. We have set outline of activities but we also encourage open space for ideas. In the meanwhile, thanks to experience exchange online, we will have broader view and opportunity to enact good practices immediately.
This idea is important to us because we try to tackle current problem with future prospects and feel this is most vital time to tackle this issue. As a psychologist, lawyer, social workers, we came face to face with many stories and feel the real need to address the situation.
Our main target group are teenagers (natives, migrants, refugees, deprived). On one hand they are our future, on the other hands this is the age of conflicts and negativism. So we want them to engage and show the nature of the problems existing and the role they play in them.
