Idea pitch

Political education is central for well functioning democracies. The idea is to organise a crossborder dialogue, consisting of workshops, between Germany and Poland. In interactive workshops, we will strenghten structures in the educational system on the ground and establish a network of teachers and multiplicators especially in rural areas that will last. The project will focus on current EU issues in the context of changes in relations and different perceptions of democracy between DE/PL.

Where will your idea take place?

The project will take place in smaller cities in the border region between Germany and Poland.

Why does Europe need your idea?

Education is the most powerful method of fighting against populists. We will learn from each other about political education and the differences in the country system and help teachers and multipicators to understand how to teach young people better and protect them against populism.

What is your impact?

We will have established a network of further training of teachers in the educational system that will bring EU issues on the table, each of them in their school or field of work. In regions where there is no infrastructure of political education, we will strenghten its visibility and create tools.

How do you get there?

In four workshops (two in Germany, two in Poland), we will create tools useful in political education and establish a network in rural areas in both countries. Actors will be teachers and other multiplicators in the educational system. We will start with acquisition of players in both countries. The idea is innovative because in Poland and Germany political education is very different and till now no one has developed a comparison of those both education systems on a project level.

What is your story?

We believe in the European idea and we are sure that all people have the same right to good and reliabe political education. We want to give chances to teachers and multipcators to exchange knowledge and their experience.

Who are you doing it for?

The target group consists of teachers and other multiplicators in the educational system both in Germany and Poland. Existing structures will be embedded. The project can be transferred to other regions and cities. The participants will receive tools useful in their daily work.

What do you need from the Advocate Europe community?

All kind of ideas are welcome that can help to make the project even better!
