Investment in community. Benefit from existing resources.
We build a mobile kitchen and serve locations that are temporarily vacant. The community hosted pop-up kitchen is installed! com_kit involves people with diverse cultural background and social standing to be the hosts of the place. The com_kit team is there to support them in whatever they need and the project requests. The outcome will be documented and presented to a broad public for the idea and the project itself can grow and spread.

future: expand to Europe e.g. Berlin - Ruhr area
Whatever the actual public attitude towards Europe may be, in the long term Europe needs to re-establish welcome policy instead of exclusion and marginalisation. com_kit is a tool to strengthen social diversity to enable people to participate in society and aims to spread the vision in Europe.
Our goal is to enhance exchange and communication between different cultural and social groups that form our society. For we understand society as a civil society in which citizens are equally enabled to participate. Our project helps to repeal prejudices and initiate social exchange.
In Europe the infrastructure for pop-ups is given and there is a political necessity to make projects that show diversity as a driver for a positive change in civil society. We start by mobilising people and communities to take part as active players in the project. As hosts of the kitchen and the space they themselves become project designers. The team of com_kit supports the implementation and documents the project for presentation to a broad public (exhibition, roundtable, press, etc.)
We think that now is the time to create initiatives, to bring people of different cultural backgrounds together in a very uncomplicated and low threshold style. We are convinced that our project creates positive contacts, interchanges and a strong community feeling.
We do it for the vision of a united Europe where people of different cultural backgrounds can identify with. The key issue of the project is to consolidate the idea of an egalitarian democratic European society where everybody can participate equally.
