The coinsence.org project aims to create an open source collaboration platform that enables communities to address their needs and build commons by providing tools for transparent and collective decision-taking and the creation of digital units of account (“coins”) which serve as means of exchange for individual contributions (e.g. ideas, time, goods, money). In addition, we introduce a collective taxation und funding mechanism that enables communities to fund public projects.
Coinsence.org enables people to engage across borders in different communities to build consensus and governance frameworks that reflect their democratic will, address their needs and share common visions.
By making use of new digital technologies, we will provide a flexible (in terms of size and focus), de-central and resilient solution to address community needs. Alternative collaboration platforms enable people to experiment with different forms of democracy, create a higher sense for commons.
We have built an open source collaboration platform (community.coinsence.org) where people and organizations can connect and collaborate. In the next steps, we would like to implement some additional functionalities, i.e. liquid democracy features and user-controlled, blockchain-based accounting tools that ensure transparency and trust. Furthermore, we plan to establish collaborations with different user groups for the further development of the platform.
I promised my kids to do everything I can to protect their freedom and environment & to reduce poverty & conflict. The solution we are proposing is a utopia, but is feasible considering the potential of all our technological & human achievements & it is becoming more urgent in view of the status-quo
People, organizations and communities that want to address specific challenges. Sponsors that support projects with their resources and want to make their engagement transparent. Educators that want to empower youth to more awareness, self-initiative and entrepreneurship.
