Idea Sketch

Idea pitch

Theatre and visual artists together with journalists, scientists and citizens, Break BorderLines and speak, through Art, about "Terrorism".
Our answer to that growing phenomenon is Democracy, workshops, debates, artistic community events, installations, a dialogue between Greece, Germany, Netherlands. The project aims to:
-use Art as a tool against radicalization
-involve citizens in a collective, creative process
-open new democracy kernels

Where will your idea take place?

Heraklion, Greece
Schwerte, Germany
Amsterdam, Netherlands

Why does Europe need your idea?

In a world of increasing violence artists, journalists, scientists, local communities speak, through Art, about devastating consequences of terrorism in daily life or human relationships, of radicalization of young people, so that they can create democratic kernels and reinforce collective identity.

What is your impact?

Nowadays, the word that rules is "believe", not "know". By "Breaking BorderLines", about 400 active participants and 7000 spectators will get to "know", or educated through Art, on democracy, human rights, so that in future they 'll be able to stand fearless and confront any kind of "terrorists".

How do you get there?

Each activity will take place in all the three countries:
*Debate on issues such as Terrorism-Radicalization-Democracy.
*Artistic-educational workshop (f.e. learn about human rights through theatre) for 40 active participants.
*One BBL artistic event with participance of local communities.

Publication of methodology or preferable, manifesto, which will include all data revealed, about how can Art be the tool for creating new democratic models or alternative ways of communities’ empowerment

What is your story?

I feel it’s my duty to connect communities through Art, to use the craft to create bridges and social interactions.
BBL project will be continuance of "Caravan. Next" funded by Creative Europe and give a social perspective to the current artistic work we do with Studio7, titled "BorderLine".

Who are you doing it for?

-Young people, in order to prevent from radicalizing by extremist philosophies.
-All people who have big need to express themselves and want to feel that they are not forgotten (f.e. disabled or elderly people)
-Minorities, refugees, collectives.

What do you need from the Advocate Europe community?

I will be glad to hear about any feedback or remarks from Advocate Europe Community. I am sure that all ideas will help me and the team to make a new step in the creative proccess.
