Web television for counteracting Kremlin’s propaganda in Eastern Europe

Why does Europe need your idea?

Support of our project can be a form of pro-European forces response on some of the challenges that emerged as the result of Putin’s regime activity. First, it works on blocking the attempts of Kremlin’s propaganda to set up ethnic Russians residing in European states against local governments and societies thus decreasing potential separatist sentiments on the EU territory. Second, it promotes European values in Baltic states and CIS countries which tends to sympathize to Russian model under the influence of biased media. Third, it is an additional source of alternative information and moral support for pro-European Russian people who now face censorship and numerous bullying attacks from official propaganda.

What is your impact?

We can hardly imagine that it is possible to ‘disenchant’ the biggest part of Russian-speaking people only with the help of our project. However, the broader audience it will reach and engage, the more it will contribute to that. So for the next year we are setting up primarily tactical goals mostly connected with fixing project on track and increasing the number of its viewers and supporters. We will consider our project successful if within the next year it will bring the following outcomes:
- We will be able to keep working and produce 5 regular video programs every week;
- Our total monthly audience in the region will increase to at least 800 000 people;
- Number of our Facebook page subscribers will grow to 100 000 users; VK.com page to 30 000 users; YouTube-channel to 10 000 users.

How do you get there?

Our project was launched on January 28, 2015. As it was planned as a long-term we did not set the exact date for its completion: if we would manage to achieve our goals, the project become a part of CIS countries and Baltic states media market and stays afloat for years. To make this happen we are taking a number of steps to implement our content and promotional strategies:
1)Providing regional independent media with our content for free retranslation to deliver it to broader audience
2)Establishing the strong presence in social networks and in YouTube to get the stable own audience
3)Launching mobile apps for iOS and Android
4)Focusing on work with widely acclaimed journalists and speakers
5)Providing audience with politically uncensored content, including independent analytics and satire
