Idea pitch

Educap City is a french prevention and sensibilisation program with 2 axes : fighting discriminations and bringing awareness about handicap for children from 9 to 10 ; organising a city raid for 11-13 years, using sport as pedagogic and eduactive tool.

Where will your idea take place?

France (10 cities, including Paris)

Why does Europe need your idea?

Accepting the everyone differences and our own difference by erasing bias one has towards others, by fighting against ignorance. Avoiding auto-exclusion and risk behaviours, helping communities to coexist while participants realize how their city is organised and works. This way, they will have the ressources to avoid being manipulated by extremisms and fanatisms.

What is your impact?

Educap City problematics concern most countries. We aim to organize it in every city in France, as well as in Europe. Beyond understanding their city, kids will know the purpose of the European union and have an approach of its multi-dimensional identity. If selected, we can recruit employees to work towards an expansion of the program to European cities. We've already invited European teams to the Paris final (June 2016) and plan to have a 1st Educap City in another European country.

How do you get there?

1 Invite european teams (2-3) to take part at the Paris final on the 8th of June 2016 to make them discover the program.
2 In partnership with structures implicated in european programs (APELS, OFAJ, european instances, cities in partnership), we’ll identify the structures that can carry the program in each country.
3 Train and give pedagogic tools to those partners to help them to start the program in their country. (In September 2016)
4 For the first edition, give a logistic help to those new organisers.

What is your story?

Who are you doing it for?

The program is dedicated to the youth, from 9 to 13 years old. Schoolboys and girls from public schools, private schools and special schools (for disabled children) are invited. The beneficiaries of the program are also the adult participants : students' parents, teachers, associations workers, policemen, city services' employees...

What do you need from the Advocate Europe community?

How do they receive the whole project organisation and what would they advice to implant it even further in different regions of Europe.
