Istanbul, Turkey, Berlin Germany
We have received applications from trans* and gay individuals from Middle East who do not have a guarantee for their lives and had to flee to Turkey. United Nations Refugee Office and Solidarity with Immigrants and Refugees Association has started to direct all LGBTQI individuals to our office. Especially the civil war in Syria and radical Islam groups and their trans/homophobic crimes towards LGBTİ individuals directs them to Turkey.
Our activities aim on advocacy, visibility and education regarding human rights of LGBTIQ individuals and against hate crimes. One year later we will have a tool (the film) which we can use for educational events in Turkey and Europe to inform about our rights and the possible ways of self help structures. We know that we can reach people at best by connecting to their emotions.
The production of the documentary film contents the following steps: 1. clarification and detailed planning of the overall concept; consulting with steering committee, 2. research of protagonists, 3. evaluation of existing archive materials (video, photo) including the material produced in the workshops, 4. skript writing, 5. production schedule, 6. shooting, 7. viewing of shoted material, 7. transscription, 8. rough cut, 9. intermediate meeting with steering committee, 10. sound design, 11.translation, 12. subtiteling 13. titels and titel design 14. online editing, 15. colour correction sound compositing, 16. production of master tape of feature lenghth film
