Kraina Vilnykh Lyudey
We have a variety of further partners in projects in Russia, Georgia, Armenia, and Ukraine, working in a wide range of fields such as theatre, dialogue, peacemaking, anti-discrimination and integration. Last but not least, this includes those representatives of NGOs which we trained in „Usage of Forum Theatre when working with internally displaced persons (IDPs)“ within our predecessor project. These partners will support the project in public relations and recruitment of participants.
By means of qualification and an international festival, a Russian-Ukrainian-German network of partners will promote the inner-European transfer of well-proven methods of overcoming war consequences through Forum Theatre (FT). Strong connections will be built, those affected by war consequences in Ukraine will be socially activated, and potential for violence will be lowered. A method book in Russian and English will bring these experiences to the public in Eastern and Western Europe alike.
Social tensions induced by wars or migration waves currently bear challenges for many European countries, especially Ukraine, as well as for mutual understanding within Europe. A priori disadvantaged groups such as women, children, and IDPs are particularly influenced by these effects. Post-war countries possess specific competence in mastering such difficulties. However, knowledge transfer and network building between Eastern and Western Europe is often insufficient.
1. Strengthening Ukrainian civil society; 2. empowering and activating socially disadvantaged groups such as women and IDPs; 3. transferring knowledge and experience about overcoming the consequences of war through FT among European (post-) war countries; 4. spreading the usage of FT in preventing violence and coping with trauma, an approach well-tried by our partner „Sintem“ in the North Caucasus; 5. transferring specific work experience from Eastern to Western Europe – an untypical direction.
1.Train Ukrainian multipliers in prevention of violence through Forum Theatre, with whom we shall
2.develop a FT play on the subject of domestic violence as a consequence of war, which will
3.premiere at the international FT festival in Dnepropetrovsk beside four other productions from UA, RU, GE, and AM which deal with other problems resulting from war and which will be discussed interactively with the audience, especially NGO activists and IDPs;
4.Arrange a network meeting between the leaders and stakeholders of the five FT groups (belonging to various social groups in four different countries) during the festival;
5.Compile and publish a Russian and English method book about the usage of Forum Theatre in overcoming war consequences which will include work experience from four countries.
Civil societies and FT multipliers from the Ukraine (especially womens' rights advocates), Russia, Georgia, and Armenia are direct beneficiaries of the project. Collaterally, marginalised and discriminated or socially disadvantaged groups within these societies (such as IDPs or war-damaged persons), especially current and potential victims of domestic violence in Ukraine (predominantly women and children), will also benefit highly.
We welcome every invitation to collaborate or connect as well as the participation of all those interested in our public events in Ukraine. If needed, we are happy to facilitate contacts to Forum Theatre groups or other activists from our network, working to overcome the consequences of war in Russia, Ukraine, Georgia, and Armenia.
