The set-up consists in making the river bank accessible, despite the obstacles created by the landscape and inserting a number of points of interest for the inhabitants and the public. In the lakes’ area are isolated facilities that aim to be connected by the proposed walkway. The interventions involve the implication of students and residents, preceded by consulting sessions and events that aim to raise the demand of green space into a part of the city that is voided of large public spaces.

By means of events and meetings, students, activists and specialists are also encouraged to participate. The consultations and the facilitation of local civic activism for debates on budget imply the Participatory Action Research (PAR), whose principles consists of building an alliance between specialists and participants with the aim of planning and implementing the interventions and solutions for the new accesses on the site.
We aim to make the natural lake zone accessible to the public. We would like to promote the potential of the park in the public conscience as an alternative choice to the real estate overuse. We want as well to grow the quality of the park by preserving the natural site. This will be a great opportunity for architecture students that will gain valuable knowledge and experience alongside the community’s active participation
The work plan consists in actions developed over several months: consultations with residents over project proposals, collecting ideas, informing the participatory budgeting and promoting the project among the community. Workshops with architecture students and landscapers are held from May to July, during the Architecture Days festival and the summer practice. Arrangements like a meadow, a multifunctional deck and a playground for children will be set up. All of these will be connected through a 500m suspended wooden walkway through the reed, set to be constructed from June to September. Finally, the community will be consulted with the purpose of drawing up a report – Participatory Action Research. The completion consists in a presentation and planning the follow up project - 2017.
Due to the projects amplitude and the theme that exceeds the idea of punctual interventions, „Acces în Parcul Est / Între Lacuri” is addressed to a large public. Primarily targeted are the residents of Între Lacuri, Gheorgheni and Mărăști. As the park’s area is vast, the project’s organizers are intending to spark some active communities, meaning groups of residents that participate at debates on the participatory budget with ideas concerning the design proposals.
We would like feedback about the idea and also advice for long term development.
