Idea pitch

Museum of Corruption is an interdisciplinary platform for displaying virtual collection of corruption mechanisms, from legal to ethical. It encourages critical thinking about corruption through artistic expression in the context of contemporary museology. By cross-pollinating the notion of corruption, museum and contemporaneity, the project vision is to move corruption from real life into a museum setting.

Where will your idea take place?

Athens, Greece

Why does Europe need your idea?

Seeing art as a tool for social change, the project aims to extend the perception of corruption to moral inability of individual to put the welfare of the community ahead of his/her own personal benefit by enhancing the capacities of cultural actors to work on important social issues.

What is your impact?

If the Europe’s poor countries could keep all the funds that are lost to corruption and fraud, the development situation in Europe today would look quite different.
A change from corruption ridden to corruption free societies will make the outcome successful.

How do you get there?

To develope participatory museum as a model of innovative institutional approaches for creative spillovers on other sectors
To strengthen arts professionals’ skills and vision to appropriate dark legacy in cultural venues and institutions by musealisation of publicly disputable content
To advance participation of young audiences in social events by diversification of creative formats, digital tools and gamification

What is your story?

Western Balkans and Eastern Europe are failures in transition towards democracy. Weak institutions and shady deals are making lives of the most of the people unbearable while decission makers are not pushing for equal society. I would like to contibute to changes in mind setup of the elite.

Who are you doing it for?

Young people 18-35 - future decision makers, cultural workers, goverment officials

What do you need from the Advocate Europe community?

We are looking for organizations to advise us on musealisation or are interested in development of the application titled Conflict of Interest, as a reality game in which players take real-world roles to klimb to higher levels by becoming more and more corrupt, therefore increasing social damage.
