A yearlong public campaign directly involving 250 000 Rivne city community into discussion and working out of the Brand, Mission and Vision for Rivne as a European city in Ukraine.
Rivne, Rivne Region, Ukraine
Europe may be interested in having Ukraine as a reliable and predictable neighbor, which shares, understands and follows Ideals and Values of Europe – prior to our possible acceptance with the EU.
We promote the idea of building Europe in Ukraine ourselves: by active community involvement and citizenship; by stating of our own goals; by introduction of the European principals and following them in everyday life.
Our Project targets the City of Rivne community, but will directly influence the whole of the Rivne region and serve as an example to all the neighboring regions, communities and Ukraine as a whole.
We aim to advocate for Europe with common efforts and good deeds here – in Ukraine.
By the end of the Project – Rivne will obtain a modern (well designed and generally supported) Brand, a generally agreed Mission and a consensus Vision for its development as a European city in Ukraine.
Coordinating the general efforts, by the end of the Project we are to come up with:
• 10 agreed goals/tasks for our Community, resulting from the adopted Brand, Mission and pro-European Vision
• 10 major proposals for investment – by the City of Rivne
• 10 major proposals for investment – by the Rivne region (vastly rich in a good many of natural resources).
We do hope that Rivne will also start the process of establishing partner or twin-city relations with a community in the Ruhr Metropolitan Region
We shall start with a public presentation of the Project, its Idea and framework. The first discussion panel (20-50 participants) will be held in a week. The most popular local radio will launch promotional spots and regular talk-shows. Other media will get involved. The internet-site of the Project will appear in two month. By that time the expert groups will come forward with a set of ideas. They will be tested through opinion research and online questionnaires. NGO and youth groups will help us spread leaflets. Discussions will be constant in social media. First public hearings are planned for September.
By the May of 2016 we shall come up with a consensus vision on all the issues. In June 2015 the Brand and the Mission will be adopted by the City of Rivne.
We would be very thankful for any advice, especially on the right approach to twining Rivne with a community in the Ruhr Area. “Radio Trek” plans to establish links with the “Radio Ennepe Ruhr”. We are also going to contact the IHKs in the Ruhr Area. Any other suggestions? Thanks in advance
