We will address the disconnect between displaced peoples and the communities they are joining. Developing connections is a challenge. We'll facilitate the building of sustainable relationships on the football pitch, but they'll really thrive off it.
We'll run football sessions, clubs and community days, creating shared spaces where all voices are equal, while reinvigorating local areas by giving new life to underused facilities.
We are currently working in Thessaloniki, Greece, looking to expand nationwide.
Our idea embraces the changing dynamic of European populations. We unite people from different nationalities though football, adapting a world-renowned model for a local environment, and encouraging people to develop a confidence and power they can take to the stage in their own communities.
The transfer of leadership of the project to local communities to allow for self-sustaining authorship and autonomy.
The development of open, diverse community groups which promote the interests of all.
A visible increase in the profile, activity and engagement of local communities.
Identify key locations to benefit from community-building & stakeholders with interest in community engagement.
Develop a plan for coaching football that overcomes language barriers & promotes team-building.
Host community days to encourage socialisation & connectivity between participants off the pitch.
Re-invigorate facilities & invest resources into improvement for all community to benefit.
Draw on our network of architects, sports scientists, nutritionists, anthropologists and more.
We want to combine our love for the inclusive nature of football with our passion for sustainable development, by creating a project that unites, empowers and encourages personal authorship.
We have two target groups: Displaced people who will be settling in Greek communities, and the local residents who live in those communities.
We are open to any and all comments or feedback. We are constantly striving to develop our project idea and the way in which we deliver it.
