Beyond Refuge is creating a multimedia learning app to dispel commonly held misconceptions about racism, sexism, anti-refugee views and other prejudices (‘isms’). The website and browseable mobile site will give users instant access to factually correct information from credible sources but in a counter argument/discursive format. Users may search for terms such as “racism”, “sexism”, “nationalism”, “prejudice”, “anti-refugee”.
ONLINE: 1st in UK, then in Germany and then Europe wide.
Europe needs to renew its guarantee of opportunity for all. Prejudice has no place in this equation, yet it has been on the rise in the last 5 years.
We will enable young people to peacefully inform negatively biased peers in their community, ensuring a more positive dialogue.

The content package for the 'ism' app is going to be distributed to YouTube and directly through the app, which will be safe to use in educational institutions and offer complementary lesson guides and functionalities that a YouTube channel cannot.
The alarming rate success of nationalist movements, an impeding Brexit and increasing rawness of mainstream social media have all had a part to play in giving rise to renewed ‘isms’ (e.g. racism, sexism, amongst others). This led us to conceptualise new tools to combat ‘isms’.
