Idea Sketch

Idea pitch

Can you imagine yourself as a user of a social networking media that invites other civilians to actions that will help resolve social issues? They can involve anything encompassed by the public domain of the E.U., such as supporting vulnerable social groups, coordinating the defense of human rights or even simply improving a public area in your own neighborhood. Set the Time, Date and Activity you wish to perform and just Invite. WE gather together.

Why does Europe need your idea?

The most basic prerequisite for a democracy to function, is all its members to be able to participate in equal measure and responsibility in common issues. Nevertheless it is not simply enough to own the right of participation, but also the capability of knowledge, info, access and cooperation.

What is your impact?

More info leads to consistently larger participation and therefore empowering democracy. Our app involves actions solving problems. The publications databank will be able to provide governmental bodies with an unmediated view of what troubles European citizens most, in Europe’s every corner.

How do you get there?

Large and organized structures ask for the support of volunteers in initiatives they themselves have designed. We propose a differentiated alignment of organizing initiatives creating a framework which enables EU citizens regardless of social status, to propose initiatives and take charge of actions for implementation of those initiatives. The difference is that such initiatives will start and continue with the citizens, for issues derived from everyday life and social problems involved therein.

What is your story?

‘’Sir, we can do it ourselves’’, my pupils said when I complained that the local authorities did not respond to our request of clearing the school lawn from encroaching weeds. My students demonstrated to me that the road of self – initiative and belief in ones’ self exist.

Who are you doing it for?

For those citizens that wish to contribute by their actions in common affairs, thus participating in a more humane and cooperative society, that may currently be frustrated. For those citizens that simple do not wait for the state to handle everything and who believe in self-organization.

What do you need from the Advocate Europe community?

We are interested in developing broader partnerships for development and funding our proposal.
