The idea is to make sustainable agriculture attractive. For most of the young people farming is not an option anymore, so all the traditional knowledge will be lost, while we still want organic, and local food on our tables. Our team'll travel around Europe, visit young people who choose to be farmers and save tradition, combined with new methods, like permaculture, which gives a picture about what is happening on the countryside. We'll make a movie with interviews and make farming attractive.
Eastern Europe. Focus on a couple of farms in Hungary, Romania, Slovenia.
If we want to take the stage, we need quality food, and for that we need small scale farming. We are missing the farmers for this. We need to convince young people to return and care about the land, the environment and the traditions. Democracy is based on equality, which starts with quality food.
Convinced young people moving to the contryside and start farming. The outcome is a versatile process. The abandoned countryside will have life again. The farmers create community, nature harmless agriculture, high quality, local and seasonal ingredients for people around, for restaurants.
We will travel to small farms (approx. 6) on the hungarian, romanian, slovenian countryside, and make interviews with the farmers. We want to focus on young farmers, who moved to a farm not so long ago and show how they live, what is their goal, how they work together with each other and their environment. The style of the movie is going to be a mixture of a "roadmovie" with interviews, but keeping a relaxed, very grounded, almost chill atmosphere, just as the life on the countryside.
My hope is, if we take care of our lands, our soil with humble, involve our traditions, it will help us. My hope is, people will find their way back to earth, to agriculture, to community and to their pots. I do not want to live that day, when we cannot cook, because we run out of raw ingredients...
Young people at the beginning of their life, before choosing a profession. Also people who want to change, maybe start a new life on the countryside. A lot of people can benefit from our project. If an area gets back to life, schools, restaurants, hotels can reopen, and more people will move there.
We worked on this project for a while, and we will make it now or later. We are working for a better Europe, which is based on a restored agriculture, and quality food. We couldn't have done this project together without healthy, good and fair food, so please give us feedback, advices of any kind!
